DeFalco’s Italian Eatery, Grocery & Deli

BEST DELI ON THE PLANET !

sandwichMy wife and I were in Scottsdale, AZ for a few days a while back on a work related trip. After a couple of hit and misses on our meals around town we decided to take the advice of the manager at Old Town Cruisers where we went to rent bikes. And that was go to DeFalco’s . . they have great sandwiches ! When we walked inside it was a real treat to see the tall shelves stacked with Italian goods, wines & more. We placed our lunch order at the cashier counter. The huge Capacollo, Hard Salami & Provolone Sandwiches on fresh baked Focaccia bread we had for lunch were probably the best sandwiches we have ever had. Our beautiful cappuccinos made by Antonio were good to the last drop..

The freshness of the food, the outstanding service and incredibly reasonable prices made this place the highpoint of our few days stay in Scottsdale. In fact we loved the joint so much we came back later that evening for dinner. We decided to order a 14 inch Calzone but the counter guy said a 10 inch would be plenty for us so we shared an incredible 10 inch Centurian Calzone. My God was it good ! My wife who is a very talented cook agreed it was the best calzone we’ve ever had.

And then we shared a giant slice of New York Cheesecake with caramel sauce & pecans which was the most delicious cheesecake ever. We even took a tub of their imported Italian Gelato back to the hotel. It had a very unique flavor and I thought it was great. If we had known from day one how good this deli was we would have eaten here every day. Without a doubt Defalco’s totally exceeded our expectations. As it is this is the only place we have dined at twice in the same day. If you are looking for an amazing place to enjoy a high quality breakfast, lunch or dinner in Scottsdale then this is the place !
