My wife and I were totally enjoying our 2 week vacation in Italy. After spending a wonderful week in Rome and Florence we headed to coastal Salerno for 6 days. We had booked a guided limo tour of the Amalfi Coast for Monday, March 31st. Our limo driver Giovanni picked us up at 9am to begin the all day tour. SPECTACULAR ! The scenery was beyond breathtaking. At around midday we arrived in beautiful Amalfi for a coffee break and so I could drop off a special bicycle seat ( vseat ) at a local tourist shop owned by the cousin of our friend Daniele from Cycling Amalfi Coast. NOTE ! The vseat was invented a few years ago in California and has been a game changer for me on our bike rides . . no more groin pain.
Anyway it was a gift for our friend Daniele and he was going to fit it to my rental eBike in time for our planned bike ride from Salerno to Minori in 2 days time. My wife and I dropped it off at the shop and headed straight to Amalfi Terminal for a coffee break. Back in late September, 2023 we rode our rental eBikes from Salerno to Amalfi . . it was quite a hot day. After lunch we stopped by here for gelato cones and they were so delicious. We walked inside at 12.40pm and the first thing we noticed was the gelato bar was gone. It was now an espresso bar which suited us perfectly. We ordered 2 x double shot Cappuccinos and picked out a couple of scrumptious looking cookies.
STAND AT THE COUNTER ! The talented barista placed our 2 cappuccinos and our 2 cookies on the hightop counter . . and that is exactly where we enjoyed them. Our rich tasting cappuccinos hit the spot . . you won’t get a bad coffee in Italy. And our huge fresh baked cookies tasted fabulous. In fact Giovanni our limo driver beat us in here for his coffee hit. This is a very good restaurant that serves just about everything you could want in Italy . . pizza, pasta & more. After our relaxing coffee break we headed back to Giovanni and his limo to continue our tour . . next stops Minori and Positano. When we are visiting Amalfi again one day this will be a great place for lunch. HARD TO BEAT !
