The Coffee House

CLASSIC BREAKFAST SPOT !

My wife and I were in Oregon not long back enjoying a scenic drive down the coast. We stayed overnight in the tranquil fishing village of Newport. My wife looked up reviews for local breakfast places and The Coffee House was the winner. We turned up about 9.30am the next morning for breakfast. After walking up the stairs and inside the cafe we could see that this was our type of place. We even noticed the picture of the Aussie Kangaroo over the entrance doorway.

A lovely lady named Anne took our order at the service counter for a couple of lattes, two serves of 2 Eggs, Bacon & Home Fried Potatoes ( scrambled eggs for my wife and hard poached eggs for me ). It wasn’t real busy so we grabbed a prime table out front with a beautiful water view. Anne brought out our lattes and not long after she delivered our breakfast meals. Our huge glass mugs of rich creamy coffee tasted fabulous !

We asked Anne to take our photo which she kindly did. It’s a very eclectic style of cafe and it fits perfectly into Newport. We enjoyed our lattes and our breakfast dishes very much. We were very impressed with Anne’s friendly service and attention to detail. Oh and we heard from Anne that the female owner is from Melbourne, Australia. Being Aussie / Americans we thought that was real cool. We’ll be back one day !
