Hotel Berchielli

A CLASS OF IT'S OWN !

Foyer.

As part of our Italy / France vacation we had a one day stopover in beautiful Florence. My wife hit the jackpot booking a night at this super classy boutique hotel right on the river Arno. WHAT A VIEW ! And we upgraded to a 3rd floor room facing the river. FABULOUS HOTEL ! From the moment we checked in around 2pm on Thursday, Sept 27th the incredible staff treated us with supreme kindness. SO BEAUTIFUL ! The hotel is a masterpiece of stylish decor and very peaceful inside.

Our view of River Arno.

WE WERE STARVING ! After our long train journey from Rome we were a bit beat up and famished. An amazing impeccably attired tall man named Roberto behind the bar took us under his wing and made us yummy grilled ham & cheese sandwiches. BONUS ! And Roberto made me a creamy cappuccino to die for. WOW ! We hadn’t even gone up to our room and we were getting loved to death. We had a tour guide coming to meet us at 3pm for a private tour to see cool stuff including Michelangelo’s David so we finally headed up to our room. WHATTA ROOM ! Totally immaculate with every conceivable thing we might need.  And when I threw open the shutters there it was . . the beautiful river Arno down below.

Breakfast dining room.

Our private guided tour was sensational . . an unforgettable experience. I managed to buy a bottle of good Belgian beer while we were out . . my pre-dinner ritual. Max behind the bar at the hotel was gracious enough to give me an ice bucket, a lovely stem glass, a bottle opener and even threw in a bowl of peanuts. After my relaxing chilled beer it was off to dinner at a very good restaurant virtually next door to the hotel.

My very special Cappuccino.

What we saw of Florence was utterly beautiful.  On Friday morning we headed to the breakfast dining room on the 2nd floor.  The array of food on offer was too good to be true . . a gourmet buffet of epic proportions included with our room.  Our friend and caregiver Roberto stepped out of the kitchen and bid us good morning . . and said CAPPUCCINOS ? And before we knew it the most amazing cappuccinos ever made for us were placed on our table. We wished our visit to Florence was a few days longer.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the wonderful hotel staff we encountered . . Stefano, Barbara, Massimo, Max and last but not least Roberto. TRULY THE MOST ENCHANTING HOTEL STAY OF OUR LIVES !
