Les Deux Musees

PARISIAN CHARM !

Our view outside.

My wife and I flew into Paris from Bologna on Mon, Oct 2nd to commence our one week vacation in Paris . . our first ever visit. The next day we decided to walk to the River Seine from our apartment in Rue Daguerre to appreciate the Parisian culture. It took us a couple of hours to get to the Seine . . we stopped many times along the route to look inside shops. At around 1.30pm we decided it was time for lunch and the look of this French restaurant fitted the bill. WOW ! It looked terribly busy when we walked inside . . our preference generally because there is usually very little atmosphere or vibe on outdoor patios. We looked around for a minute or so but couldn’t find a vacant table.

Our well made Cappuccinos.

TO THE RESCUE ! Guy the owner himself steered us to a just vacated table looking out to the Musee d’Orsay . . the magnificent museum building we had just seen minutes earlier. A buzzing head server named Jean-Michel came by to take our lunch order . . 2 x Cappuccinos, 1 x Quiche Lorraine, Salade ( bacon & cheese ) and 1 x Carpaccio De Boeuf, Frites, Salade ( sliced beef, French fries, salad ). We also asked for glasses of water. Meanwhile I ducked downstairs to use the restroom which was clean and well presented. Our Cappuccinos in tall glasses arrived very quickly followed up by a carafe of water and filled stem glasses. The restaurant had a busy vibrant atmosphere inside . . we loved it !

Sliced beef, French Fries & Salad.

GOOD SERVICE ! Jean-Michel the head server . . maybe the only server inside was working himself to death. Our rich creamy cappuccinos tasted quite good and the view of the Musee d’Orsay was outstanding. Our lunch orders arrived with a serve of Complimentary Artisan Bread . . a nice touch. My wife enjoyed her Quiche Lorraine & small salad and I was quite happy with my tender Sliced Beef & crispy French Fries. Keep in mind that this cafe is in one of the most popular tourist areas in all of Paris with the world famous Musee d’Orsay fronting the beautiful Seine virtually next door. I had a nice chat with Guy the owner . . got a selfie and wished him well. WHAT FUN !
