Cafe du Rendez-Vous

FABULOUS SERVICE !

View from our table.

On Wed, Oct 4th my wife and I had a fun filled day in beautiful Paris starting with cappuccinos right here at 9am, our first ride on the Paris Metro, a 3 hour secret food tour and a visit to the Eiffel Tower. We finally arrived back at our 3rd floor apartment on Rue Daguerre around 5.30pm. I enjoyed a relaxing Belgian beer on our balcony then we walked the short distance here for dinner arriving around 6.30pm. It was very quiet inside but packed on the sidewalk patio where the smokers hang out.

Alex the manager gave us a friendly welcome and invited us to choose a table. Of course not wanting to be anywhere near cigarette smoke we sat at a table at very rear of the restaurant . . the big windows at the front were open. A sweet server named Louise came by to take our dinner order. BEER ! When in Paris I drink Belgian beer . . I ordered a Chouffe Blonde Ale and asked for 2 glasses of cold water. My ice cold Belgian beer arrived promptly with a superb tall stem glass . . and it tasted fabulous ! For entrees my wife ordered Chicken Marinated In Coconut Milk And Curry ( Thai rice, seasonable vegetables ) and I chose the Blue Cheese French Beef Burger ( blue cheese sauce, onion chutney, home-made fries ).

WHOO HOO ! Our dinner order did not take that long to come out . . and man did everything look great. BONUS ! Louise also brought us fresh warm ciabattas and house made potato chips . . both were so delicious. My wife totally enjoyed her Chicken Marinated In Coconut Milk And Curry . . it had a really nice flavor. HOLY GUACAMOLE ! My huge Blue Cheese French Beef Burger and thick crispy hand cut Fries tasted truly sensational.

You can’t beat the tangy blue cheese flavor and who serves hand cut Fries these days. I had to admit that everything was even better than I expected. In fact every time we came here for breakfast or dinner everything was pretty good. Being a 5 minute walk around the corner from our apartment on Rue Daguerre it was a no brainer to have breakfast here. Tom the barista made us rich cappuccinos every morning. And servers Mihaela and Jeremy ( cousin of manager Alex ) looked after us superbly. The fresh squeezed orange juices, bacon & eggs and warm baguettes were greatly appreciated. At dinner we were looked after very well by our server Louise both evenings. A REAL WINNER !
