My wife and I jetted into Rome on Thurs, March 20th . . 18 months after our first vacation here. We were staying at a nice 2 bed / 2 bath apartment in Monti within view of the Colosseum for 3 days . . in fact very close to where we stayed last time. First up we reacquainted ourselves with a couple of our fav restaurants & cafes and then did another guided tour of the Colosseum. After a fabulous breakfast at our fav spot in Monti on Saturday we decided it would be a fun walk from our apartment to the Pantheon. It was a leisurely stroll along the streets in a new part of Rome. We stopped at a supermarket to check out their beers and maybe some take home arancini. Along the way I popped into Bar Amore to use the restroom.

I asked a guy ( Fabrizio the co-owner ) could I use the restroom and he kindly said no prob. This cute cafe looked the perfect lunch spot but it was only midday so we continued on to the Pantheon. WOW ! I knew the Pantheon was world famous but it looked like half the planet was here. Of course it is classically beautiful. We checked out a wonderful children’s novelty gift store and bought a few cool things for our 2 young grand daughters. Then we bought a pair of butterfly ear studs for my wife at a lovely jewelry shop. LUNCH TIME ! When we walked inside here around 1.15pm the co-owners Fabrizio and Alessio have us a super friendly welcome.

And we found out they are brothers and Fabrizio is a pastry chef. We ordered 2 x double shot Cappuccinos, 1 x Ham & Cheese Panini Sandwich to share and picked out a couple of scrumptious looking chocolaty cookies. FAST SERVICE ! Everything was on our table within a few short minutes. YUMMO ! Our super rich & very creamy cappuccinos tasted outstanding . . good job by the talented barista Maximo. Our delicious panini sandwich hit the spot perfectly and we loved our house baked chocolaty cookies. We had a nice chat with Fabrizio and Alessio before we left . . thanking them for making us feel so welcome. A VERY GOOD BREAKFAST / LUNCH SPOT !
