My wife and I flew into Las Vegas for 2 days to attend a birthday party for a Aussie friend. Everyone attending the birthday celebration was booked into the huge Aria Resort & Casino complex. Believe it or not it was 113F when we walked outside the airport terminal at around midday catch a cab. After checking in we decided to find a place within the hotel that served great craft beer because I needed a really satisfying cold beer after our flight.
Our first choice seemed a winner with a huge craft beer selection but after getting slugged over $18 with tip for a glass of Delirium Tremens at a well-known pub inside The Shoppes at Crystals I was suffering tourist price shock. We left there in a hurry to head back into the Aria Casino itself and discovered the Moneyline Pizza & Bar. They served wood fired New York style Neapolitan thin crust pizzas !
It was like a welcoming breath of fresh air from the moment we walked in with a nice big open space, cool wall decor and good classic rock music cranking out. We found a table and before we knew it a friendly server with a big smile greeted us to take our lunch order. This place was a great choice and it kept getting better. I kicked things off with a Victory Brewing Golden Monkey Belgian – Style Tripel . . my absolute favorite craft beer !
After studying the impressive pizza menu we ordered a large Gotham Pizza to share . . $28 I believe. My craft beer tasted really good and was a decent price . . no more than 10 bucks from memory. Our huge 16 inch pizza came out in a few minutes and looked fantastic on its elevated rack. Our obliging server grated some fresh Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese over our pizza and we dug in. The pizza was full of flavor and the sauce was particularly outstanding !
I ordered a Duvel Belgian Golden Ale . . reasonably priced at $9 for a 12 oz bottle. My wife and I even struck up a friendly conversation with a young couple at an adjacent table. This pizza restaurant played excellent classic rock background music the whole time we were there and we enjoyed the overall atmosphere a lot. We loved our huge gourmet pizza and I enjoyed a couple of great craft beers at a fair price. There is also a beautiful looking full bar and an extensive wine list to complement the great craft beer choice. I read later that this classy restaurant is headed up by James Beard Award winning Chef Shawn McClain so that says something. We thought this place inside the Aria Resort & Casino was a good value eatery !
