Bar Gelateria Nettuno

SENSATIONAL GELATO !

The Three Baristas.

My wife and I arrived back in beautiful Salerno on Thurs, March 27th for a 6 day vacation. We were here 18 months ago for a few days and even in that short time enjoyed some amazing pizzas, pasta, arancino, cappuccinos and gelato. In case you didn’t know Salerno is a foodie town. HOT TIP ! On Thursday night while enjoying dinner at the pizzeria below our apartment our server Nello told us about a couple of great places we should try. AND WE DID ! On Saturday after a fabulous lunch at Al Dente Spaghetteria we walked down here for gelatos. WOW ! We arrived around 3 pm and checked out their incredible selection of gelato flavors. All the staff were very welcoming to us !

Huge Gelato selection.

BUT THEN ! After spotting the fancy espresso machine we decided on a couple of double shot cappuccinos first. WOW ! They were using some amazing coffee beans from Guatemala. Andrea the talented barista knocked it clean outa the ballpark . . our rich creamy cappuccinos tasted amazing. Before we knew it the place got slammed by a bunch of tourists and we hadn’t even finished our coffees. FINALLY ! We stood at the counter and ordered our gelatos.

Deborah the barista.

Deborah the barista ( all the staff are called baristas ) helped us with our selections . . my wife picked out Nocciola ( chocolate hazelnut ) and I chose Desiderio Degli Dei ( chocolate, pistachio with hazelnuts ). We both asked for single scoops in a waffle cone. The name of my gelato flavor might have been a mouthful but my ultra creamy gelato tasted MOUTHSATIONAL. And my wife was over the moon enjoying her rich creamy chocolate hazelnut gelato. It was standing room only inside while we enjoyed our gelatos . . no seating whatsoever. THERE’S MORE ! They also have a bunch of savory baked goods that looked pretty appetizing. The staff told us that quite often there is a long line of customers out the door and down the sidewalk. WE BELIEVE THEM !
